Amy Lessinger announced her resignation as president of RE/MAX after less than a year on the job. The securities franchisor announced Lessinger’s resignation Wednesday through a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Mr. Lessinger informed the company on Friday that he would be resigning effective January 17th. The reason for Lessinger’s resignation was not disclosed.

According to filings, RE/MAX is currently searching for its next president. In the meantime, Eric Carlson, CEO of the brokerage’s parent company, RE/MAX Holdings, will serve as interim president. Mr. Carlson joined RE/MAX Holdings in November 2023 after serving as President and CEO of Dish Network for six years.

Lessinger was promoted to president in February 2024, following the retirement of longtime CEO and president Nick Bailey.

Prior to assuming the role of President of RE/MAX, Mr. Lessinger served as Senior Vice President of Regional Development at RE/MAX. She joined the company as an agent in 1998 and later opened a new branch of RE/MAX Realty Affiliates in Reno, Nevada. Mr. Lessinger sold his interest in the brokerage in 2020 and joined the RE/MAX World Headquarters team on the corporate side of the company.

Her resignation comes as RE/MAX continues to struggle with a decline in the number of domestic distributors and nine consecutive quarters of declining revenue as of Q3 2024.

In late 2024, Lessinger told Housing Wire that RE/MAX will focus on appealing to a younger generation of agents by enhancing both its technology offerings and educational opportunities.

“If we want to attract the next generation of agents entering the industry, we need to strengthen how they evolve and accelerate their capabilities to quickly gain a foothold in the industry and achieve greater success.” “There is,” Lessinger said.

“In 2025, our focus is to ensure that the education services we provide deliver results. If you rely on it, and you have the technology and support, you are well-positioned to build a successful business.”
