Oren Alexander faces new rape allegations

The sexual assault lawsuits against Oren Alexander continue to pile up. A woman filed a civil lawsuit in Colorado this week alleging that the New York real estate agent and her twin brother, Aron, drugged and raped her in 2017 when she was 17 years old. This is the fifth known civil lawsuit against one or more of the Alexander brothers.

Maylene Gehret claims she met the brothers at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado. She said she and an anonymous friend called Witness 1 were lured to a hotel room by two brothers with the promise of a party.

Gehret said Aron Alexander raped her in the bathroom and forced her to take a shower, while Oren stripped her friend of her clothes and attempted to rape her before fleeing. According to the complaint, Aron approached a third woman, Witness 2, who passed out in the hotel room, but Gehret packed up her things and left with Witness 2.

The alleged incident involves Mr. Oren, Mr. Aron, and his brother Tal Alexander, who served as Mr. Oren’s broker at Douglas Elliman and later served as Mr. Oren’s broker at Official Partners, since March. Similarities to the criminal and civil lawsuits that have been filed since then are haunting.

Two women, Rebecca Mandel and Kate Whiteman, filed suit against Oren and Aron in March. A third woman, Angelica Parker, sued all three siblings shortly thereafter.

Things changed dramatically in December when three brothers were arrested in Miami on state and federal sex trafficking charges. One of the alleged victims in the federal indictment filed a civil lawsuit after his arrest.

The brothers and their lawyers have repeatedly denied the sexual assault allegations and characterized the civil suit as a thorough examination.

The brothers are currently being held in federal prison and are seeking release on state and federal charges. But prosecutors are seeking to keep them in custody, arguing they pose flight risks given their wealth and international connections.

Twins Aron and Oren were given $3 million bail on the state charges, but the circuit judge in the case withheld their release until bail on the federal charges was set.

At a federal hearing Friday morning, Aron was denied bail and Oren’s hearing was rescheduled for Jan. 7. Tal Alexander had previously been denied federal bail, but he asked the court to reconsider.

Oren and Tal Alexander were superstar real estate brokers in Miami and New York City, representing many ultra-high-net-worth and celebrity clients. However, due to charges and arrests, the brokerage firm’s official partner was shut down.

Side, a white label brokerage firm with which Official Partners was affiliated, sued Oren, Tal and Official Partners for canceling its real estate license and failing to pay a $4.6 million promissory note. The brothers claim Said fabricated a default by disassociating the license and refusing to reinstate it.

Following the arrest, Mr. Said applied for a preliminary injunction against Mr. Tal and Mr. Oren, prohibiting them from moving or liquidating the loan collateral.

Additionally, the Justice Department asked Douglas Elliman, where Oren and Tull built their careers, for information about their time at the brokerage firm.
